oh okie..thanks...but heard the firewall zonealarm is a adware itself?Originally posted by furb:For your antivirus and anti spyware, its safe.
Just for you to know (All freeware):
Anti-spyware, currently well-known: Ad-aware, Spybot - Search & Destroy and Window Defender.
Firewall, currently best free: ZoneAlarm free version.
Anti-virus, Currently well-known: AVG free version and AntiVir Personal Edition Classic.
--------------------------------------
I would suggest use a up-to-date firewall. I don't think symantec is giving any more support to 2004 version. Use ZoneAlarm instead.
Would suggest you getting 2 anti-spyware program instead because some anti-spyware program can't detect certain spywares found in your computer. So getting 2 would compensate this problems. Suggest using Spybot and Window Defender*.
Note: I assume you are using legal version of windows, if not, you can't use window defender.
ZoneAlarm Free - http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp
Other than that, your PC is fine.
It's not an adware, but the way it works make it seems like adware. Because it reports back to it's home site, which most adwares do.Originally posted by xShevchenkox:oh okie..thanks...but heard the firewall zonealarm is a adware itself?
ISP use firewall, but not for YOU. The firewall purpose is to block websites, that's why certain websites can't be accessed from here.Originally posted by Meat Pao:If Im not wrong, ISP is using firewall?
Also for people who use router, router is a hardware firewall at home?
Is it still neccessary to use software firewall?
Thanks,
