  trick of extending it to your desire length..
  
  1) know how much time u want to record.
  2) click on the record button first.
  3) wait till it is recording till 50-59 seconds
  4) click on the stop button.
  5) click on the record button again.
  6) repeat till desired time is acquired.
  7) drag the timeline till the start of the sound recorder.
  record whatever you want.
  
  Alternatively, you can use a mp3 that has voice recording function and record.
  then transfer that to your computer...
