  Did you use WEP/WPA?
  
  If you did, did you enter the WEP/WPA key in for him?
  
  Did you use MAC address filtering? If you do use MAC address filtering, be careful of the options given. Use the wrong option and you will block yourself out. A reset of the router is required.

  network passsword(some security type (wep or wPA couldn't remember or some other sh!t)does allow u connect but then no packets transfer w/o the vaild password)
