Not sure, but you might be better asking for a new monitor instead, because replacing that darn monitor costs as much as repairing it.

Have to go ask the manufacturer then..... You ask the manufacturer. If it's cheaper to repair, then go for it. I have never heard of laptops warranties covering the laptops screens.
That's why they recommend insurance after buying a laptop, that will cover the expenses.
Me learns this the hard way. -
That's why I need to know where is selling Laptop Screen so I can change it for less than half the price of the repairs done wiht the manufacturers. If not I am screwed by needing to pay $700-$800 plus.

1. Bring to work, put pen on keyboard. Somehow get a colleague to 'accidentally' close your laptop forcefully.
2. Open laptop, emit sounds depicting dismay and surprise, then offer to be a 'pal' by asking only for half the amount needed to fix damage.
Let me know how you get on.
OR...
Carry laptop in laptop bag, do not use shoulder strap. Stand behind a rich-looking executive, and then make him/her accidentally bump into you thereby causing your precious laptop to fall onto the floor. (you might want to put in a shit harddisk before doing this)
Repeat step 2, above. -

Wishing TS best of luck buying a cheap LCD laptop screen. Repair is going to cost more than buying a new as the producer tend to buy in bulk.
