  hi i wish u guys can help me i just add a 512 ram and usb card reader but now my cd-rom not working it cannot read any disc

  did u by any chance accidentally loosen the wire connecting to the cd rom?

  i also dunno leh cos i bring my cpu to comp shop doi ask the person to add for me a new 512 ram and a card reader i also think tat maybe its the wire cos i bring back try put disc inside cannot read

  the cd rom can still eject right? just that the com cant detect it only ar?

  then should be easy liao.. there are two wires connecting to the cd rom drive.. u just plug out the bigger wire and put back again.. careful, it is quite difficult to pull out one..

  check that the IDE cable is properly secured( the long ribbon)

  Try taking out both your new installs and power on your CPU to see if Rom drive is detectable, if it does.
  
  It means either one of your new install have hardware clash.
  Then try fitting alternate chip into your Mobo to see which one is the culprit.
  
  Did you try to startup safe mode?

  hhi thankz all problem solve i bring to the shop liao its the cable sentive i think the boss try wif his cd-rom it works then try mine again finally works thankz a lot guys
