  My budget for a laptop is about 2k.. what brand can last me long and is good and fast just for typing stuffs and surfing net etc..
  
  i will be using it for school work or what.. maybe play music but i wont use it for playing games

  Or rather, just give us the brand and model number of both AMD and Intel processor laptop you're looking at, we try to help you with it.

  amd has gained popularity since afterthey could look after their heatproblems
  amd processor consumes much more power than intel given the same performance.. peak(approx 50watt)
  
  however amd is cheaper in price compared to intel with the same performance

  Me is AMD fan. So AMD is better.
  
  But if you are gamer and wants to overclock, AMD is way better than Intel.
  
  Heat problems wise, AMD Athlon 1GHz and below processors do have problems.
  
  Anything after that, they don't have much problems, so you are partially right.
  
  In terms of performance, looking at the benchmarks, it doesn't provide much results. While Extremetech says Intel perform better, I'm of the other opinion. AMD performs better when I've tested it.

  I have another opinion about the issue of withstanding overheating of intel vs amd.
  
  the problem mostly lies with users who chose to overclock. Overheating will definitely happen.
