recently my desktop could not even run internet explorer.. it gives the following error in that order

Aiya, can't tell who you are.
First this error on Internet Explorer: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way" error.
If you have Google or Yahoo toolbar installed, uninstall them. Then go Windows Update and update your PC.
Next error on "Your system is low on virtual memory" error: How much hard disk space is left on your PC?
Last error on "The application failed to initialize properly": Go to Start > Run and type in cmd
Type in this into cmd: cacls mspaint.exe /E /G BUILTIN\Users:R
Then type in exit to close Command Prompt. -
total size 70 gig 22.8 gig left...

Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
Select the Advanced tab.
Under Performance, click on Settings.
Click on the Advanced tab when a new window opens.
Under Virtual Memory, click on Change. Select C drive.
Under Paging file size for selected drive, choose Custom.
For initial size, set it to the amount of RAM that you have. For example, you have 512MB of RAM, put 512 in.
For maximum size, multiply this value by 2. You can have more if you want to. Then click on Set.
Click OK throughout to apply the settings. -
how to check what ram we have?

the c drive says the initial and maximum size is 372 and 744 respectively and it currently set to that

Right click My Computer and select Properties. Select the General tab. At the bottom, it will state how much RAM you have

haha it only shows 248 ram so i put initial 248 and maximum 248*2?

so secretive... anyway the problem still occurs when i restarted the com maybe time to buy new desktop... i will continue trying ur earlier methods unless u got any other ideas?

i havent do the windows update yet and when i try to open IE it auto close itself... and i saw just now the virtual memory problem again

when i reboot it they give me 2 options 1 is Microsoft Windows Recovery Console and the other is Microsoft Windows Xp Home Edition..

If cannot, get Firefox and install this addon called IETab. Boot to Windows XP instead. -
what do u open the ie tab with.

lol i can surf with firefox on the desktop but i cant run internet explorer as it auto close lol

IE Tab is used with websites that are only compatible with IE.
One example is Windows Update. -
nono i meant any website i can surf using firefox.. but ie cant even open as it give the same errors as what i started off with, sometimes even auto closing...
if i uninstall that IE and reinstall/dl IE7 will it make any difference?
