Desk Top DvD Burner

Hi.... need some help here..... my new desk top DIY PC have one LG DvD burner + one LG CD burner..... found out after using, both LG rom too senstive. Can't read certain disc.... even my creative X-Fi driver disc
Giving me lots of headach right now.
Planning to replace both LG drive.... but limited by whats on sale..... Sony rom i heard is just as bad.... So, anyone out here knows of a good (cheap) DvD burner..... what brand & model
Most be able to read less then good condition disc without problem..... thxs

BenQ. Although it's a tad noisier when burning stuffs. When it's reading discs, it's quiet.

Maybe some firmware updates for both of your optical drives may help. Also befre you purchase an optical drive (especially DVD-writers) please read the technical specification and the listed, tested and approved media brands it can read. If you can check out on the PI anf PIF average numbers for all the media to be used with your DVD optical drive, something like this

Sony DVD-writers are a little picky on the media it reads, while TDk and Verbatim media may go easy with most DVD writers. -
My old DvD burner is a TDK..... work like a charm. This new LG one sucks...... can't read even driver disc. Problem with TDK is no longer selling in the market. Now my choice only ASUS, Bque, Iomega, Samsung....... all this sell under $60. Some friend say ASUS is not bad..... so, anyone using one ??
