damaged zip file

i using winrar to unzip a zipped file but it says it is damaged.
the archieve is either in unknown format or damanged.
dled twice liao. 2nd time still same problem. sian. wasted my time to dl 400mb file twice Zzz
anyway to unzip it? like repair or something -
as far as I know, cannot repair... its either the source file is already damaged or its your hardware fault during download...

If you are using download manager, try disabling them. Download without using a download manager.
Since it says it's a 400MB file, right click the file and select Properties.
Make sure the file size listed is around 400MB. By definition of around 400MB, it shouldn't be less than 397MB.
Also try using uncompressing utility. -
firstly, u can use winrar repair function see if it helps.. if not, if possible, compare the checksum between the source at the website and yours

To check, you use a program called MD5 hash calculator (http://www.diamondcs.com.au/freeutilities/md5.php) or SHA1 hash calculator (http://www.snapfiles.com/opinions/HashCalc/HashCalc.html
For example, I'm downloading this Knoppix Live CD (700MB)
After I downloaded the file, I run it through the hash calculator.
After calculating, I compare it with the MD5 or SHA1 hash given. If it's the same, it means the file had not corrupted. If it's not the same, then the file has corrupted. -

How big is the file supposed to be? If it's a 400MB file, and you get 355MB, Winrar will report it as a corrupted file. You need to re-download. -
winzip and winrar hate you, i think you must have use a download manager, thats why your file is short of a few mb......
