Static IP Address

when i use the following webpage, http://portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm, when i try to generate a static IP, the first IP is 192.168.1.136, and when i try to use it to enter in http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Acer/WlanGRU2/Utorrent.htm, under Do not skip this step!
Please enter the static ip you want to forward to:, it's 192.168.62.xx
can anyone help me out on this?

This is the default gateway used by another country. In Singapore, it's 192.168.1.1
Replace 62 with 1 -
Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.62.1.
when i enter it in the address bar, google just shows me the results as if i have searched in the search engine. -

but the password seems to be wrong =( -
someone actually configured your router's password access. you can reset the password by reseting the whole router to factory default settings(u will need to reconfigure everything..(eg. password for network access).usually u need a pen to poke the reset button.. the button is damn small around 1mm to 3mm in diameter.. try discover it. the reset button is on the router itselfOriginally posted by wrexham:haha yes. i manage to get into that website

Different routers different passwords...
Please get your manual out to read. Some of the settings there applies to other countries, but not here. -

Nothing will happen, except that everything will be back to default.
Let's say you are using a Linksys router.
Your SSID will be linksys, password will be admin. -

the router model is different from the guide one?
cos.... (as compared to the guide)
1. your gateway different
2. '' default password and username different
3. '' configuration page is different
to forward port, u go to the port configuration page(somewhat similar to the guide).. enter your static IP address in the IP field. usually it will leave a blank behind 192.168.1.x where x is the blank for u to fill in.
and the port u which to forward from your computer.. eg if your torrent client is using port:65656, den place this vaule in the blank field for forwarding port. enable Both UDP and TCP...
lastly, if there is an enable option, check it or else it wont activate the port forwarding.
