browser(?) problem

hello, i can't load some sites like hotmail on IE by typing its url in the address bar but i can enter hotmail by googling it.
the error i get is: The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.
i had this prob after installing IE7 and AVG 7.5 ....i have since uninstalled both and am now back to using IE6 but the problem is not solved.
i have tried using firefox but it doesnt work, neither do i have an enabled firewall.
can anyone tell me whats going on? -
the website that you are visiting is currently on server maintenance or it has been shut down already or it is under dos attack or simply because the website hate you, which one of what i have mentioned, do you think its true? i personal think that the website hate you.

Try clearing your cache.
And if necessary, repair your internet connections. -

Might be corrupted cache. Damn MSN always like this. Clear cache will work. -
