dont know leh.. i jus insert in my recovery disc n it revert back to xp.. my hard disk is up n running without giving me any problems after i revert..Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Eh... how you revert back to XP? As far as I know, this is nearly impossible without destroying your hard disk first.
Anyway, for Vista, one thing to note, lots of drivers are not present. Those function keys to increase/decrease brightness, increase/decrease volume are some other drivers that come with the notebook, without these drivers, they won't work.
Webcam also need drivers, so does your Bluetooth...
Not that they don't work, is no drivers for them presently.

The Vista upgrade disc is deadly. The full installation disc itself is ok. Perhaps sotong had the installation disc instead of the upgrade disc.Originally posted by alwaysdisturbed:wah, vista so deadly?
impossible to revert?
lucky i haven't buy and install.
talking about recovery discs, now the trend is that the manufacturer don't provide them is it? only provide a software for you to burn?
u need to burn it yourself for vaio notebooks..Originally posted by alwaysdisturbed:wah, vista so deadly?

Manufacturers still do provide recovery discs, but nowadays at the minimum. Maybe you will find one driver missing here and there, requiring you to go online to download to get your computer working.
Acer got provide, but no drivers. Luckily Windows by default already got wireless, so not that bad.Originally posted by mr_sotong:u need to burn it yourself for vaio notebooks..![]()

I though when using recovery disc, it will delete existing partition and restore the main partition created from the recovery disc.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Eh... how you revert back to XP? As far as I know, this is nearly impossible without destroying your hard disk first.

No idea what recovery disc will do, but if one uses the upgrade disc, there's no such thing as reverting back to XP without removing Vista first.Originally posted by GSL:I though when using recovery disc, it will delete existing partition and restore the main partition created from the recovery disc.
