  nope... its illegal u if a adapter can sniff it, it breaks the 802.11 wireless rules.
  
  there is a guide for MAC to do it.. for windows.. harder...

  depends la... u use it to sniff data den decode,network password, credit card password, mac id , or invade someone's privacy etc etc.. is illegal.
  
  however, if u sniff it to check the quality of packets in the air, den its legal.

  But if sniff packets to break encryption, then it's against the laws.
