you want to know about the hard disk speeds or the temperature?
What temperature? System temperature? CPU temperature? Hard disk INTERNAL temperature?
using HDtune lo... there is another program which ONLY check temperature.Originally posted by Manager433:I'm using Xp pro. How to check the temp of the cpu?

From what i know, checking of processor temperature, motherboard temperature etc are done with software and utilities. And most of them comes more accurate with temperature sensor that are actually install very near to the processor, heatsink or GPU area. Unless there's some mechanical heat sensing device on the hard disk or inside the hard disk to send feedback, i wonder how accurate hdtune can be in predicting the actual operating temperature of the hard disk drive.Originally posted by manyu882:lol farmer seed.. he doesn't mean that.
cos the hdtune which i recommend to him got ability to check hdd temperature too. thats why he ask about it also
hmm quite accurate. i compared with other 3rd party hdd heat detecting software and all syncronisedOriginally posted by Farmerseed:From what i know, checking of processor temperature, motherboard temperature etc are done with software and utilities. Yeh right you might be wondering why we need to have a few thousand of rotation of a small round disk to retreive one jpeg image at only 100kb. Please note that while it seems easy for us to open a small jpeg file it is actually taking a computer 'light years' to retreive all the data bits to construct and present a jpeg image. In this, it means 100,000 bits of data possibly scattered all over the sectors. The pick up arm has a short arch or contact coverage to pick up the data and if the media disk do not spin that fast, the frequency of the targeted sectors holding the jpeg bits moving past the 'arch of contact' of the pick up arm shall be greatly reduced.Originally posted by 105090:why HDD spins so fast?

That is goodOriginally posted by manyu882:hmm quite accurate. i compared with other 3rd party hdd heat detecting software and all syncronised. This is because, moden Hard disk have integrated heat sensors.
