got any software to recommend anot ah? cuz i wan to limit my bandwidth leh. my hostel only gib 3 gigs a week, but dunno why i always exceed the limit in 3 days. -.-

I dunno of any bandwidth limiters, but self control is especially important. I do some simple maths for u here
If your hostel gives u 3GB bandwidth per week and the bandwidth is 512kbs,
512Kbs/8 = 64KBs
3072000/64 = 48000 seconds
48000/60 = 800 min
800/60 = 13+ hours
correct me if I'm wrong ^_^ -
For bandwidth or time limited plans of services there is no reason for the provider not to have some watch or metering function or utility to monitor a surfer's usage. You can start by checking with the perrson or department in charge. Through my personal experience for 3 gigs at the slowest 512k plan with general web browsing it is sufficient to last for 1 month when i surf daily for 4 hours non stop without any bandwidth exceeding. Unless you do lots of downloading or uploading of larger files then most probably the plan is not righht for you.
