I think it is a case of low memory as mayi said. I'm running on 256MB only.
Maybe getting more ram in the next few days. May i ask how much a 1gb ram can cost? -

go check your motherboard manual and type in here what kind of ram they support.. etc etc -

when u go there ask for bargain.. and tell them your motherboard can support what ram specification. if possible tell the the brand of ram u are using just in case your one doesn't syncronise well with other brands but however, very little chance that different brand rams doesn't work well together.
you also can go to second hand shop and ask around . the rams u can use are outdated rams. now, normal PC uses ddr2 rams which is the second generation ram of ddr. try your luck there ^^ rmb to bargain
