Fastest way to transfer tons of files from PC to Laptop?

  Okay here's the thing, I'm currently using a desktop PC but i'm switching to a laptop soon. So whats the fastest way to transfer files over other than using the classic method of putting the files into a harddrive and copying it out from the laptop? Are there any known wires that i can connect directly?

  use same router.
  transfer via msn...
  i did 6 gig in 2 hrs....

  50% correct.. its crossover cables ^^ but similar to lan cable.. only thing that got 2 wires switch position in the whole of 9 wires.

  1. use cross over cables
  
  2. use USB to USB one..
  
  3. buy a external hdd case.., fix your com's hdd into the case, and trasnfer file to your computer. this one uses USB cables

  so with the usb network cable you just have to plug it into both sides?

  I dont think those transfer song cable have both sides the same connector as the USB in ur PC.

  its not connector..its just a usb wire i used to transfer song from computer to mp3..then they provide different heads...so i can change to a usb- usb 1
