  hey..kana chase out by FI to here..so i wanna ask for suggestion for 2 laptop which is better..
  
  a 1.6ghz or a 1.8ghz with same spec except the 1.6ghz is 1.5k and 1.8ghz is 1.7k
  
  so which is better..a 2gb ram 1.6ghz or a 1gb ram 1.8ghz

  1.8 ghz - 1.6 ghz = only 0.2 ghz <-- not much difference
  
  2gb - 1 gb = 1 gb <-- a lot of difference
  
  i will go for the higher ram gb one

  of course 2GB ram with 1.6ghz is better....
  
  0.2 GHZ doesnt make a difference...
  
  if u compare a 1.73ghz single core laptop with a 1.66 ghz duo core laptop, the 1.66ghz duo core performs much better....
  
  extra 1GB of ram will make a hell of a difference, while 0.2 ghz difference doesnt~

  the rest thats about 1.5k-1.8k is almost the same and even comes at a smaller hard disk.. so i was deciding acer..

  Acer lor, what other brand could it be Anyway, the 1.66 C2D looks good enough, just get that with an extra gig of RAM

  Hey just for comparing if you don't mind the processor. I got this during Chinese New Year, just for surfing internet & personal files.

  humm...cos that 1 is the company upgrade 1 mah..but they upgrade if the com anything wrong its in warrenty rite..but if we upgrade the com anything wrong its they not responsible rite?? just wanna make sure.. also..its so cheap becos i buying from poly

  Of course the logical advice should be to get the one with more ram. However if one day you have to work with any application that requires more than the processor speed of your notebook you may have to get a whole new one instead because you may not be able to upgrade the processor that easily on the notebook. As for ram, it is always available for upgrade anyway. Just go buy one module and throw it in.

  That one is for PCs, not laptops. Laptops RAMs cost higher. At the last PC Show, we were told it costs $195. Now that PC Show has ended, it should be hovering around $200. Maybe slightly lesser.
