BSOD

  today i tio BSOD 3 times liao. not sure why. can someone tell me how to troubleshoot for the cause?

  after thinking thru, i think that it is caused by bad memory in my 2nd drive. that drive havent been formatted for like 2 years. and it is heavily utilised as most of my dls are saved directly into that drive.
  
  also my system seems to be more laggy than before.
  
  how to solve these problems of BSOD, and lagness. lets take it is bcos of bad memory. but if it is not, then how to troubleshoot?

  there are many causes of BSOD, so could you give more information on the BSOD(what is written on the BSOD) so the techies here can help you

  yea, make sure u disable auto restart. so u can look at the Blue screen error code.

  Lots of reasons for BSOD. It's not just hardware alone that can give you BSOD.

  1.Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System
  2.Go to Advanced
  3.Under the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings...
  4.Under System Failure un-check "Automatically restart"
  
  i'm not sure whther it will be logged into the error log though.
  
  edit: you can view the Blue screen error in your system error log too

  fvk . it was stable for like 2-3 hours and i let my laptop continue dl overnight. i left it at 23%, i woke up was 25% cos it crashed!
