Windows Vista Problem

  Just bought a new Acer desktop that came with Vista, when i try to install my internet modem drivers... A prompt will appear

  I also got problem with Vista... Sian, when i try to run Windows Live Messenger, the DEP-Data Protection Program stops it from running and shuts it down

  Sian... Hey i'm also having the same problem as elitefella... The DEP thingy... How sia? You suggested admin... but what if i AM admin?

  Vista changed a lot. Even if you are admin, you must still run as admin. Microsoft has called this improved security.

  yea you are right.
  i have seen how admin get lock out of their account when they log off. which is really kinda stupid function.

  Turn off UAC feature to enable full control.
  If not, go msn or wadever software properties with the right click, go to security tab -> choose your user account and set your controls mannually.
  
  Start -> type user -> turn on or off user control.
  
  There's a well known problem in vista for its sleep mode. It will return back to normal state within sec even though u go to sleep mode. On serious cases, computers will crash and reboot.
  
  To solve this.
  Go to start -> type device manager -> Network adaptors -> wadever controller -> power management -> uncheck the allow computer to turn off blah blah....
