cd drive problem.

  my friend cd drive can open and close. but cant read the disc. how come?

  Does the CD have scratches? And make sure the CD is put on the correct side.
  
  I know this is a dumb error, but some CDs have identical sides, making it hard to identify which is the correct side. You have to flip it around to double check.

  try to clean it using the cd rom drive cleaner
