cant start up properly

  yest i just swop my cpu to a new motherboard
  
  for my amd xp 1.6 because of the old faulty mb
  
  when it booted halfway it go to the safe mode
  
  screen... and just reboot back
  
  or sometimes it display cmos error ...
  
  so i try to reinstall windows xp
  
  however half way install it said file cannot be copy
  
  but my xp cd is orignal less then a year
  
  wat is happeing
  
  do i actually need to reset the cmos?

  the CPU and Motherboard compatible?
  
  Error in reading, XP CD rom dirty, faulty CD rom drive, faulty RAM chip... these are a few possible causes...

  CMOS error - what error was shown?
  
  As for the files copying error, it's quite common. Most of the time, they do no harm to the PC. You could try copying them after the OS has been installed properly. Note down the file name(s) affected so that you can copy them after installation has finished.

  XP is pc specific...........when you changed mb.......XP identified it as a new pc......? possible?

  Blue Screen of Death error. Better known as BSOD.
  
  Any particular file(s) that was affected?
  
  Like whatever.dll or whatever.sys or whatever.exe ?
  
  This error means that the file requested by memory is not there.
  
  It could be due to your bad installation of XP which you mentioned earlier.
