I dont remember doing anything to cause this error or delete any files associated with the media player.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:What did you do to trigger this error?
When you insert a CD or DVD and it autoplays?
Or any other things you did to trigger it?
How about when you just open Windows Media Player without it playing any music or video? Does the same error occur?
Since it's an internal error, probably some files have been corrupted.Originally posted by |Uv`-f|UtE-`:I dont remember doing anything to cause this error or delete any files associated with the media player.
The thing is I cant open up the player with or without playing anything![]()
WMP is connecting to the Microsoft server. Click on your Media tab. That's the server they are connecting to. Also, it's checking for updates.Originally posted by TehJarVu:for me is everytime i turn on the computer
will have pop ups saying wmp trying to connect to server or taking over as server or some shlt (can't remember what)
then i have to press allow or deny
then i will press deny 4 times X 3 (pop up will disappear after 4 deny and appear again, this will repeat 3 times)
then the pop ups will finally not appear again
so irritating
how to stop this?
but if i press allow
then the pop up will go away right away
but i scared that will be harmful or something.......
so what shall i do?

You have to allow them, otherwise it won't be able to update.

Uninstall Windows Media Player. It's in Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Make sure you tick the Show updates box at the top right hand corner.
Next, download Windows Media Player 10. Save it to somewhere convenient.
Thirdly, download ATF Cleaner or CCleaner to clean up your temporary files.
Install Windows Media Player 10.
Last step, go to Start > Run and type in cmd
In Command Prompt, type in the bolded parts line by line. After each line, press Enter key.
regsvr32 /u jscript.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll
Then try running Windows Media Player again.
Have you reinstalled Windows Media Player?Originally posted by |Uv`-f|UtE-`:what can I do if both lines failed ?![]()
