  This problem surfaces when I updated the java thing. I don't know whether is it because of it to cause this problem but it was surface right after the updating.

  Just turn off the auto update feature for Java.
  
  Start > Control Panel > Java
  
  Select the Update tab
  
  Untick this box: Check for updates automatically
  
  See if it helps.
