Hi. Recently did a reformat on my desktop and was told to register windows xp by the system. Didn't bother about it and did not register. After 30 days, I could not log on to my computer unless i register the windows xp but the problem here is i borrow the copy from my friend and whats the solution to bypass this? Do i need to reformat my computer again?

1 copy for yourself only? Sure? Than those use those ahem version leh? Than now i have problem with my new laptop. How come i don't have to do a manual connection like what i did for my desktop before i can log on the internet? For my new laptop once i on the laptop i can use the internet straightaway,Why is that so? I tried connecting manually to my singnet account but they always tell me the system blah blah did not respond.. Than i can login to MSN but not mIRC why is that so?

For mIRC they say unable to connect to server. Reason : Software caused connection abort.

Ahem version don't even bother. There's no such thing as registration.
Install your modem drivers... otherwise, it has been installed by XP and your connection is being managed by XP...
I have no idea who still mIRC today. If you are using Windows Firewall, check that it's not blocking.
Other firewalls, make sure it's being allowed. -
I tried logging in to my broadband account just now still can until i restart my computer than cannot already.....

Nvm. I can't be bother with my broadband connection anymore as long as i'm able to use the net. Does it make any difference if i connect manually or they auto-connect for me? AND mIRC still cannot connect. Tried to off all firewalls but still the same.

Hmm.... weird.
If you are using Singnet since 2003 or before, you will need Winpoet. That could help you better manage.
2005 and above, follow the guide given by Singnet to set up the Internet.
Your mIRC might be able to connect after these are set up properly.

Okay. Problem seems to be solved. Now whenever i on my laptop i don't need to do anything and just use. It'll be auto connected. I don't know why also.
