Amplifier to desktop..

hello guys.. this may not be the right forum to ask.. but hope some of u can answer my question.. hehe..
my 9 yr old SB Platinum Audigy gave way a few mths ago and my cambridge DTT2500 speakers cant be used anymore because i cant find any sound card replacement due to the connectors being obselete.
so, im using my old 2.1 altec lansing speakers with onboard sound card and the bass is really terrible and quality is not fantastic..
anyway... coming to my question..
i have a set of old huge and bulky speakers at home which is collecting dust and back then, these speakers were the best! it was kept in the storeroom because it was replaced by bose.
i intend to buy a pre-own amplifier with AUX.. to power up these speakers and AUX out from my computer sound card. dont want to make those speakers a white elephant
i am using Infinity Studio Master 100.
Frequency Response: 59Hz - 22kHz (+/-3dB)
Crossover Frequency(ies): 2.5kHz
Nominal Impedance: 8 ohms
Recommended Power Amplifier Range: 10 -150 watts RMS per channel

im looking for a 2 channel amp with that kind of power range. or maybe a 4 channel with 65w RMS to bridge (i think it works that way? i can connect 2 channels to 1 speaker? pls correct me, i am nub)
#1 will the sound be clear?
#2 will the bass be nice and powerful? (i like to blast hip hop/r&b/modern jazz)
#3 am i doing the right thing? should i just buy a better sound card and 2.1 speakers (it wont be as good as what im gonna do right?)
what brand is recommended and cheap too.. cuz im a lil on budget.. $200-$250?

Why not u just get a wire that can split the audio cable into a left and right channel, then from there, get those normal red and white cable, connect to ur a better amplifier?
i do tht last time, cos i using a set of Infinity premiers, 1 12" infinity BU120 subwoofer, 2 power amps, 1 pre amp, then just input the the soud back into the amps and play the sound out, it is nicer
alternatively, just go to simlim, get those normal 5.1 for computers, i using that but if u listen too loud, the speakers cannot really tahan.....but for u i tink it is ok, cos i listen to techno and eurodance more often
or try to change the equaliser setting in ur computer first before buying anything, maybe it is the sound equaliser that is messing around -
bro... prob is i don have any amplifier..
and i have that cable u mentioned.. the 3.5mm that splits into 2 rca cables..
the 3.5mm would be from my computer to the amplifier..
just need recommendations.. or what i am doing is correct or not.
