I duno what I did to my original DVD set up... I screwed it up years ago...
When I tried to play DVD on WMP, it show 'Windows Media Player cannot play DVD video. Open Display in Control Panel, and then lower your screen resolution and color quality settings. To view the DVD Troubleshooter, click More Information.'
Last time when I first bought this com, it can play DVD...
Any idea? I changed the screen resolution and colour quality also can't

Did you uninstall the DVD drive drivers?

Right click My Computer and select Properties.
Select Hardware tab.
Click on Device Manager.
You will notice CD/DVD drives.
Click on the + sign to expand. It will list the brand installed. Go the manufacturer's website and find the drivers. -

*edit* Can't install the driver...Downloaded the driver and SFDNWIN to run the thing but it says 'This Fireware is not compatible with the selected drive. Contact your system manufacturer for information on fireware updates available for this drive.'
The thing is....I downloaded the CORRECT one
*edit again* Sianness, if all this can't work I think I'll go buy a new DVD-rom... How much does a region-free dvd rom cost? Buy those portable dvd player or dvd-rom better? -

Simply means, the drivers are not suitable for your hardware.
You have to check your hardware version before downloading the drivers... -
