  Tick the box that says not to start each time after you untick those programs...

  maybe you should install HDDLife
  
  it tells you your hard drive ok or not, how long its been working, the temperature, etc.

  if i add another 512 RAM to my 512 RAM
  will it help with starting up of my laptop and with accessing email clients?

  Yes. But please get your fan problem solved first, so that we can rule out overheating as a cause...

  i'm hesitant to go service centre because that will mean a few days without my laptop and i need it for work
  
  and i went to funan... those thinkpads on sale, they also don't have strong wind blowing out of the holes... just like mine
  
  so my fan may not be faulty......
  
  see how lah... if it is still bad i will send it in maybe next week...
