[Help] Can't create new network connection

  Hi all,
  
  as part of my job, i'm required to dial remotely at home using a laptop to access my customer's server using I.P. But I was unable to create a new network connection (see pictures below).
  
  Really appreciated it if anyone can advise. Thanks.
  
  firstly, i go to my computer, control panel, network connections and click file, add new network connection. this screen will come up.

  after that i will see this. i select the 2nd option then...

  then i will come to this screen where both options are greyed out. i am able to click "next" too.
  
  by right as what i see from my colleague's laptop, both option should be available so as to allow me to make a choice.
  
  any ideas what's going on?

  dial directly into your coy server ?
  
  or do you mean hook up to internet first and then connect to your coy network via vpn?

  use my laptop modem to dial into the server using IP. no internet is needed.

  That link goes to configuring a VPN...
  
  Gordon, do you have administrator rights? Your screenshots seem to tell me that it's a no.
  
  Go to Start > Control Panel > Users Account
  
  Under your account, does it state Computer Administrator?

  yes i login to an adminstrator account. domain is my company's network. right now when i want to create a network connection, i have no lan cable connected to my laptop.
  
  what i want to achieve is that create a new network connection. plug in my home telephone line and using the laptop modem to dial into my customer's server using IP.

  You might want to try while you are in the company. That's because you are in a domain, certain things might not work while you are not in the company. Borrow the LAN cable from the network administrator... if it doesn't work, get him/her to help you out.

  i don't think think that's necessary. cos i tried it in my colleague's laptop, his one can create connection even without any lan conection.
  
  anyway my company doesn't have a network administrator.
