  i recommend nod32... been using it for a yr now.. i feel tat it is much better than norton... u can try the new beta version.. its free for the time being...

  i thought kaspersky is the better rated one recently? Free options like avast and antivir also quite ok.
  
  norton i hear is very invasive and takes up lots of resources. In fact, in several workplace I have seen, some strange problems are always solved when we remove norton antivirus.

  Kaspersky has good detection rate, NOD32 has a better heuristics.

  Me using Kaspersky Internet Security... $88 damn expensive but good! Straightaway detected trojans that my Mcafee misses.

  Kaspersky has hourly update features. I believe it is the same for Bitdefender.
  
  So far, Kaspersky Internet Security KIS6.0 has been superb for me.
