what u no need? OS,mouse, screen(pls specify what type... crt or lcd)...ect
what is it use for? gaming? graphic work?)...ect

and do they still sell windows xp os?
ya its meant to do graphics work like 3d s max. -
overclocking is that u increse your component's clock speed.
example..... a 3.2ghz processor u overclock to 4.0ghz.
place to buy: simlim square
shops: fuwell(recommended by most of us), bliss computers trading, ,bell electronics,video pro(careful of Parallel imports)... and many other shops there....
yes they still sell XP os.. it will retire only next year
summary
minimum req.

1. intel pentium e4300(low end core 2 duo) + MSI G965M-F (this one meet just nice your specification built)
2. vaule ram 2 x kingston/patriot/cosair(choose of it the brands) 1gb 667ghz non-ecc ram module.
3. sataII seagate 160gb 8mb cache 7200rpm hard disk
4. any lower end casing.
5. MS home edition
6. 15'' LCD screen (sonic view or philips recommended by us)

some things u need to consider.
1. the size of LCD screen.
2. the casing....
3. the hdd(my research found that 320gb hdd is good for its price in terms of cache, and GigaByte/dollar ratio)
4. video card a.k.a video card ( need some expert on this section.). On board x3000gma is good enough for graphical work liao, and some medium graphic games like warcraft3 with the latest driver installed.
5. the core 2 duo processor.... according to the current price listing, its going to like an exponential graph in terms of cost against clock speed.
eg:
intel Core 2 Duo E4300 (1.86GHz/1066/2M/Box).. ~$275
intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (1.86GHz/1066/4M/Box).. ~$303
intel Core 2 Duo E6400 (2.13GHz/1066/4M/Box).... ~$373
intel Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4GHz/1066/4M/Box).... ~$525
intel Core 2 Duo E6700 (2.66GHz/1066/4M/Box).... ~$888
as u can see, with another extra 800mhz, u need to pay another $613
since u are doing graphical work, i suggest u take the lower end processor... at least that when it depreciate its value, the price wont be so much a difference. and also, the performace between the higher end and the lower end processor has no much difference since u are doing graphical work. -
