Y all my players cannot open .avi files

  y all my players, Window media player 10, realplayer etc all cannot open avi. video files.i have check all the selected types of files in the WMP option area

  Is it just one particular file, or every avi file you ever had? Have you tried rebooting your comp?

  ya tried, its say something gotta do with error downloading codec

  Download Irfanview from here and try opening your .avi files with it:

  Download VLC media player...
  
  can play almost all files... avi. confirm can!
  
  for the rest of ur media players.. i think u need codecs... the latest ones
