Bootable Hard Disk??

  Can a formatted hard disk boot by itself without using any CD rom or floppy drive . For example, i have tried copying the bootable files from a Win 98 bootable floppy disk to the hard disk but it doesn't work.

  can. else computer how to start everytime?
  
  how many harddisk u have? Is it in the boot sequence?

  only 1.
  
  a lappy hard disk.
