Hi,
My com currently is having this problem.
When I on the power supply, following by pressing the power button of the com, it gives a loud beep. After that, the com will auto off. I ahve checked the interio of the com and all the connections are working fine. The fans area also all running properly. I have not installed any new software lately. Could anyone help me on this. Thanks.
most probably ur power supply is screwed!
Deleted. Constructive comments please.
Hmm, means I have to change the PSU? OR is it another reason?
Long or short?
Also, what type of BIOS?
Award, AMI, Phoenix or others? Please name others.
For the com, I am using the Pheonix BIOS. The ram are 2 pieces 512.
Are you sure that this Phoenix BIOS?
Phoenix BIOS has a number of beeps.
For example, this code: 1-1-2
It would beep once, pause, beep once again, pause, then beep twice.
Can you give a better description of the beep?
Is it a long beep or short one? Does it sound low or high? Is there any patterns to the beeps?
Ok, my error. My Motherboard is from Gigabyte, 8PE667 Ultra. BIOS from Award, and mine's a Dual BIOS motherboard.
It's one long beep, quite high in frenquency.
try to power on with 1 ram first, test both ram. See if both ram beeps...
One long beep means that your RAM has problems.
Check that it's being inserted properly. Also, try booting up with one stick of RAM in the different slots, then repeating with an stick (if you have). Then put in both and try.
If none of the combination works, either your RAM is gone case or your motherboard...
Thanks! I'll go try it tomorrow morning.
