hi allen i prefer to use utorrent bcos it's smaller and simple to use. maybe it's the settings i think. im using sp1 so i dun think will affect my tcp/ip settings?Originally posted by allentyb:-_-
i have been using utorrent for a long while already
and seriously, it really depends on how many seeders and tracker, you are connected to, in order to provide you with good download speed
and if you are using sp2, your tcp port is limited to 20
you need to open up more tcp port.......
and if you have the latest bitcomet version
you could use one of the function which is under that TCP/IP limit function, change the limit from 20 to 100
and see whether, can you able to connect to more peers and seeder
and how fast, your download speed depends on how popular is the file, and are you connected to alot of seeder and peers?
my connection is also behind a firewall, but i still able to get around 100 kb/s
or average 50 kb/s
file problem? dun think so cos there are seeders and peers.Originally posted by chenc:There is nothing wrong with the client itself.
Most likely to be your router, or your client settings, or the file you are downloading is probably dead.
No idea what you mean by reinstalling your firewall, which firewall? window's or anti-virus software's?
but most of the time firewall is never a problem as long as u set exception.
then i have one damn sad news to tell youOriginally posted by excused:hi allen i prefer to use utorrent bcos it's smaller and simple to use. maybe it's the settings i think. im using sp1 so i dun think will affect my tcp/ip settings?
im downloading a file which has 17 seeders and 33 peers and i only have a speed of max 3kb/s at best. Im using 512kbps connection. based on my past experience the download speed should not be that bad.
so im wondering what's the problem, whether it's lack of seeders/peers or other problems![]()

alot of people is leeching file from you
and you still need to open up more port for your p2p engine
or it will be very congested for your network
i open up 500 port for my utorrent........... to achieve a better speed
or download from this website - http://www.lvllord.de/?url=tools
and between you have windows firewall, right?
if yes.... that is sp2
dude, you still need to open up more port for your utorrent
it is not a virus or spywareOriginally posted by excused:i downloaded the file and my anti-virus reads it as a virus. it's a virus?
