My laptop is acer travelmate 3280.. Is it true that it will automatically shutdown itself if it gets too hot? I played game and it just shuts down automatically halfway.. Dulan leh..

No I didn't press anything.. Definitely an error sound.. I don't know.. Maybe something that usually starts up together with the start up encountered an error? How to check any idea?Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:When entering your username and password, be careful not to press any other buttons after pressing Enter, otherwise it will generate a beep sound.
As for SpeedFan, here's the link: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php

Most laptops by default have this option turned off. But some technicians turn this option on. It's hardwired... so you can't turn it off.
Overheating are sometime caused by two things. Faulty fan or faulty powerOriginally posted by dinky1409:Hey all.. Lets do this fast..

I don't think I need to rack my brains on where to buy such tools.Originally posted by fvwerra:Overheating are sometime caused by two things. Faulty fan or faulty power
supply itself. You see, PC or notebook got power doesn't meant that power
supply got no problem. Check the voltage output of your DC power supply and power unit. Lower than spec power (minus a few milivolts) can caused
processor to work harder as to compensate it so it could cause auto shutdown
when it too hot.
I never thought this could happen until my colleague show this.
