Any software that's like FLASH but idiot proof super simple?

  Hi, I want to do a simple kids 'program' and
  am looking for a software that's like FLASH that allows me to make
  clickable 'buttons' that links to this and that on a timeline etc.. like FLASH
  but is (cheaper) and easier to use than FLASH?
  
  Any suggestions?
