A new virus is identified from www.packetnews.com. Do not visit/ search from the site!
Let's call it Packetnews Virus, it just came out this week. I just discover it, it was not present a few days back.
It installs generic Tojan Horse which spreads itself in your computer immediately. It performs the following:
1.Installs programs and exe files
2.Install dll files
3.Automatically edits registry
4.Disable background wallpaper permanently
5.Deactivate firewall permanently
6.Permanently disable internet connection though connected
7.Configures services to high mode to slow down computer
8.Unable to delete or stop such services as they are configured to be marked as critical system services
9. Disable soundcard hardware by renaming it in registry
Destruction power: 9/10
Only cure is to reinstall windows, similar to the Seriall Virus.

The difference is, IE allows drive-bys, there's no such thing as drive-bys in Firefox. So in effect, if you disallow JavaScripts in IE, there are other ways to get it to your system.Originally posted by Fire Star:IE can also disable javascript, settings, there is no difference. I tried. Nothing happens.Originally posted by Fire Star:Friend, you can use your firefox and visit the website now, just type something in the box and search, 80% chance you will get it too.
