Computer doctor?

Hi everyone, currently my desktop is giving me lots of problems. Having a hard time trying to start it up even. I think it's probably the hardware's problem.
But I have not much knowledge about fixing a computer and finding out where is the problem.
Anyone can introduce some good computer repair shops which probably won't rip me off? Cos' I'm afraid that those shops might exergerate the problems and make me pay for more then what is needed.
I'm actually quite lost on what should I do with it as well. Advises much appreciated!

Why not get help for free first?
If still can't find out what's the problem, then can refer your PC to someone who has the expertise.
If you would prefer to go straight to them, try your neighbourhood PC shops first. There's one in AMK Central (not the hub). -
Lol, I really don't know what's the problem besides,
the computer most of the time won't start up. There isn't even any beeping noises. Sometimes even if it is able to start, the computer will hang or restart after like 5 to 10 mins.
It was repaired about a year ago. Changed almost everything because the ram was the problem and had to get DDR ram which the motherboard didn't support. Costed me close to $600 and now giving me trouble again.
This incident caused me not to trust neighbourhood ones...

go read up in google man. have a thinking skill of an engineer. and then tackle the situation.

my guess is the person or you probably got the wrong type or ram. -

There are a few causes, most likely your hardware again.
Overheating is one cause...
Your hard disk might be dying. The chance of this happening is low. To double check, plug it in to another machine. Make sure it's in slave mode (if it's an IDE HDD). Boot up the PC and see if the PC can detect this hard disk.
Also, if you are able to boot up, can you take a look at Event Viewer (Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer). Look out for any errors there. -
