maybe..... u can get a friend, who have large HDD space, then, plug in ur old one as slave hard disk to retrieve the files first, then take it back to ur com, and do the fixing....u feel safer

actually i dun mind data loss , and a lesson for my sister to treat computer with care.

When the window startup in MS dos , at the bottom i got extra optionBio Setup XpressRecovery2 Boot Menu
F9 was not in the menu previously , apprear after something happen to the pc

In this window , by right can press up down to choose the mode , but when press got no reaction leh , the highlight box wont move. Then went contdown time end , it will restart and continue another cycle until i off the comp
Ok on the option the 3 buttoncan be press and go in the setup , foroption was fine , up down left right was responding , for when enter , up down button all no reaction again , for option , it tell me to Install Xpress Recovery2 from GIGABYTE CD Title,Press any key to continue
There 1 disc i believe that it the GIGABYTE CD , i insert , no reaction , press enter oso no reaction , the only way to end it is to off main switch
Anyone can help ?????? My sis now abandon the PC and keep buggin to use my laptop

recovery works only when the computer is still able to have some start up propably and get to the desktop menu.
i would suggest that you reformat your computer, thus you can re-install the whole softwares again and this time, you add additiona user options thus you can control what your sister can do with the computer by limiting the access that your sis uses in her profile. -

Type EXIT to quit the Recovery Console and restart your computer

first dunno lost the window XP cd where , spend me 2 hour to find the cd
and the case find in 1 place , cd another place
on the process of reinstalling XP on my PC , i found that my window XP home edition product key was GONE !!!!! LOST !!!!
I think the serial was stick onto the transparent wrapper warping the whole xp set together , and the main XP booklet i cant find any product Key , 2ml got to activate a search party to find the plastic wrapper
So Suay Suay(choi) if cannot find cd key how , anyway to recover product key without needing to log in to windows ?

If it's a DIY PC... then I don't know...
If it's a branded one... try the key that is sticked to the PC... -

unless you're still using windows 98 which i know does need floppy disk
Windows XP just needs disk will do.
as for windows 2000/ME, I'm not sure, but if you want to reformat, i can help you to reformat you laptop, since I just reformat my own laptop.
which windows are you using currently?
any plans to upgrade to XP?
Note: Don't use Vista, coz the market and the programmes aren't ready for Vista Windows thus it's best to use XP still. -

is it possible to get another Certificate of authenticity ?
coz the xp cd set come with : xp booklet , blank cardboard , COA ,cd and plastic wrapper covering the whole set.
i dont know COA was in sticker form , so i leave it in the whole set at the back.
Now dunno who itchy hand remove the plastic and everything was scramble around the house.
Possible to get another COA ??? -

OEM products aka branded products product keys are sticked on the CPU casing... as a proof that the product is legal... unless you removed it, the sticker is the product key.
As for COA... not very sure. Very confusing. -
