Frequent disconnection?

Hi everyone, there's a similar thread in here but I think I will start on my own thread.
Since yesterday, there are certain websites which I cannot load. Like friendster, when I typed the address, it will be stucked while loading. I tried opening another browser to check if it is still connected to the internet and to my avail it is.
The problem not only arises in friendster. Most of the sites I try to go to also give me such problem...
Next is my MSN Messenger. I can get connected to my messenger. But then it'll get logged out after like 5 seconds. I can't even load my contact list to see who's online!
Despite all these problems, I tried downloading using Bitcomet. The speed is still as fast as it used to be and there isn't any disconnection at all!
When I called Singtel technical support, the person asked me to change the channel of the modem. But this doesnt solve the problem as well.
Why is this so? Can someone help me? -

You can try using their proxy.
Address: proxy.singnet.com.sg
Port: 8080 -

With Firefox, see sticky.
With IE:
Tools > Internet Options
Select Connections tab
Under Local Area Network (LAN) Settings, click on LAN Settings... button
Under Proxy Server, tick this box: Use a proxy server for your LAN
In the Address field, copy in proxy.singnet.com.sg
In the Port field, type in 8080
Tick the Bypass proxy server for local addresses box
Click on the Advanced... button
In the HTTP field, type in proxy.singnet.com.sg for the Address field, 8080 for the Port field
Same for Secure and FTP fields
Under Exceptions, type in your router's address (default is 192.168.1.1)
Click OK all the way to save the changes. Restart IE. -

Start > Run and type in cmd
In Command Prompt, type in ipconfig
Take note of your Default Gateway, that's your router's IP address. -

Wah, that's a kinda wierd problem... So how did you manage to ask the technician to come down and check? Cos' normally they will just help you though the phone right? And how long did that take to repair man?

Erm... been using SCV for ages... but only recently the modem giving me problem by resetting...
No proxy setting required....

Should be can... are you part of the administrator's group?
Go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts
Make sure that under your username, the phrase "Computer Administrator" is there. -

Might as well switch to Firefox, you can enter the same settings... -
But the problem is not only with IE man... Firefox also got such problem...
And my MSN... I guess I'll have to ask the technicians to get over to my house... -
