touchpad problem

  mayi my lappie's touchpad got problem, no matter how i move, the cursor doesnt move, and when i check under properties, it shows no problem with the device. how?
  
  i m now using a usb mouse =(

  How about uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your touchpad?

  If after you've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the touchpad and the condition is still the same, then it could be the hardware fault...

  but i dunno where to dl the driver and the manufacturers website did not have the hardware.

  Start > Control Panel > Mouse
  
  Look through the options...

  seems like no =( and i redownloaded the driver but to no avil, but the pad now can only move from one end to the other > meaning left to right

  You mean your scrolling area displayed on your screen is equal to the width of your touchpad?

  no, i m trying to say, it just moves from one direction to another, not up or down or as freely as it used to be

  Restarted the PC after installation?
  
  Start > Run and type in msconfig
  
  Go to the Startup tab
  
  Do you see two Synaptics entries?
