I got USB port problems !

  Help..Mine computer doest read anything that i plug into it...I tried plugging in the back where there is more power but also useless..
  
  How shd i remedy this ?

  Back during the days when everything was running fine and smoothly, I was using one of the front 2 usb ports to recieve mine keyboard until 1 day i decided to plug it out and plug a printer into the same port..
  
  From tat day onward the computer usb ports just failed to work.
  
  Today i tried to plug mine nikon camera to the port to upload cos i have some pixs to show to the Sea of affinity guys..
  
  I went the trouble to buy a card reader thinking it might works but still cant haiz

  Is your printer on?
  
  It could be an issue of the interrupt conflicts for your usb ports...
  
  Plug in your card reader and go to Device Manager to change if there's any question marks in your device listing...

  I unplug everything off liao except the keyboard and mouse which is still on..
  
  I tried ur method but there is no question marks and everything claims to be working properly by the device manager.

  Try uninstalling your USB root hub and let it reinstall by itself by detection...
  
  In the meantime, unplug other devices other than your keyboard and mouse...

  I uninstalled 3 of mine usb root hub and its gone..The com doest detect it

  What did the printer manual state?
  
  I've got a feeling that the printer destroyed the USB hubs.

  How do i go checking the printer manual state ?
  
  I also suspects that the printer might have somehow destroyed the usb ports

  I think you have quite a similar issue as mine..
  i had 2 USB devices connected for 1year now.. and had trouble detecting other USBs sometimes..
  
  restart your computer with your device, it should work now.

  When you unplug the printer a few months ago, was it done in a proper manner?
  
  Also, does this printer need an extra adapter to power it up?
  
  To check if the printer is still working, plug it in to some other PC. Check the manual for doing it properly, otherwise, it will spoil the other computer.

  I did't plug mine printer in the correct manner..I simplily just plug the power socket and plug in the printer usb port for the com to detect..If its doest detect i would just plug it again..
  
  Looks like mine whole usb port has spoiled is'it ? Would i have to replace them or there is still some hope of remedying it ?

  Maybe you should open up the casing and check. The ports maybe connected via cables and could have been dislodged when you swapped USB cables.
  
  Or dust went in and caused a bad connection. However, in this case it should be intermittent.
  
  Else it must be a defective port.

  USB ports are sensitive ports... it might have destroyed that particular port or all USB ports attached to the motherboard when you plug and unplug the incorrect way.
  
  Try other USB devices other than mouse and keyboard and see if it works, like a thumbdrive or external hard disk.
