regarding ad hoc

  I fully know how to set up an ad hoc network and i ave my own ad hoc profile.
  What i don't understand is why is it only possible for me to sucessfully host my own ad hoc in school at times and the other times not.
  It keeps automatically connect to RPnet yet at times i'm able to host my own ad hoc.
  
  Even just now when i'm in xp,i can't host ad hoc.
  Is there an issue with the configuration?

  Yes.
  
  Because RP sets rpnet as the main network to connect with, so you can't bypass it.
  
  Ad Hoc networks are not allowed too.
  
  Once you connect, you are probably disconnected...

  u din't get me.
  what i said was,when i follow the procedure of setting up my ad hoc,it works only sometimes,once in a blue moon.
  while the rest of the time i'm not able to host it.
  i don't get it.
  
  i have my own ad hoc profile and whenever i want to host,i go over to advance settings and click compuiter to computer and disable firewall.
  and it's only 1/10 tries that i can sucessfully host.
  
  Even now at home,i can't hsot ad hoc.
  what is the prob?

  More like you didn't get me. It's RP policies, not my policy.
  
  RP's policies is no ad hoc. It will only work once in a blue moon.
  
  The settings are on your laptop, they have modified your registry.
