Partition Help

  Hi guys, is there anyway I can delete a partition and merge them together? You see I have 1 HDD being partition into 2: one is my normal C: another is my recovery D:
  
  I plan to delete my D: and merge them together, how do i go about it?? Don't worry I have created a backup recovery disc!!

  Put in XP CD, boot to it.
  
  Follow instructions, and delete the partitions.
  
  It will be merged together automatically.

  but i don't have the original XP cd that comes along with my system!! sians..
  
  My system is running on a MCE..I have a XP Pro disc tho..can i use that disc to delete my partition? if not, any other ways to do it?? thanks alot..

  Paiseh, what's MCE?
  
  Anyway, any XP discs will do.
  
  Or if you have a Linux disc... boot it up... find the partition manager (usually it's GParted), delete the partitions, and resize it yourself.

  anyway, all files will be lost.
  
  if the Hard disk is not the on the OS is on, you can use disk management and delete the volume.
  
  if the OS is on it, i think the only way is what mayi said. boot up using win xp cd and delete partition there.
