i manage to get my comp running back to windows(XP) again
But few problem need to ask
1. when i cant get into window , i was given an option to do express recovery from Gigabytes CD , it always failed Now , my comp can run in window again , but the express recovery option still available , same , it fails to recover, which i believe data are still there. I want to get rid of those data so HOW DO I FORMAT all my data ?
2. So far till now my comp work fine , but my whole comp no sound , there no volume control oso , so i click start > programme> accessories> entertainment > Volume control
then got a pop up saying : There are no active mixer available. To install mixer hardware ................
Dont quite get it either , so what shd i do ? -

As per usual, get into BIOS, set the CD/DVD drive as first boot device. Before saving the settings, put in the XP CD. Save the settings and exit BIOS.
Windows will run from CD and you will be prompted to read a license agreement. Read through it, press F8 to agree. Delete all partitions, it will be merged automatically into one big partition. If you want more than one partition, press C and follow the instructions.
Once done, select the first partition, followed by Format and Install Windows. If you need to share files, make sure you format it as NTFS, otherwise, FAT32 will suffice.
Windows will now format and install Windows, which can take up to a few hours. In the meantime, watch TV or do something else.
2. Since you said it's working now, I believe that you managed to do a successful reinstallation? Are you using an external sound card? Or is the sound integrated into the motherboard?
Also, if the PC hasn't been shut down, shut it down. Wait for around 5 minutes and boot it up.
Then see if the sounds work. -

I tried your method of booting from win xp disc
and dont have the way you show me leh
when i get into window setup , got 3 option : to setup xp = enter , repair =r , F3 = quit
i tried REPAIR before , it just dump me in a ms mode and gave me
_ thing and i try help got a list of comand available . non of it works , only exit works
i tried installing option , lead to f8 = i agree , esc = not agree ,
so only choice f8
now i at a page , i guess is what u mean by the partition field
my only highlighted is
C:/windows ''Microsoft windows XP home edition''
and choices F3 = quit , R=repair , esc=dont repair
dont have the delete partiton option or press c to create partition thing
so obviously only choice is Repair , repair liao , then reboot back to window.
Main point : i still dont have my whole pc formatted -

Select this option: To Setup XP.
Then when you reach this part:now i at a page , i guess is what u mean by the partition field
Press Esc to choose Don't Repair.

I think my comp did not check for hardware available on my comp
why is that so , how shd i make it to detect hardware available automatically ?
My comp got a seperate graphic card , and dun think the comp detect it
And sound , did not detect any sound system oso
there is no sound card , but before comp down , there still sound , now cant get it working , im not sure whether if my sound card was on board -
