That is a sweeping statement I must say, not everyone got the budget to buy C2D and in this case AMD provides value(performance) for money.Just like not everyone can afford Beemers so toyotas still serves it purpose, would you say it is inferior?Originally posted by ceecookie:AMD is inferior to Intel, and the latter got the support of Microsoft as well.
haha this is a controversial marketing statement i like to say when comparing the two giants.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:You caveman leh...
AMD is not inferior to Intel, it's just as good as Intel.
Technically, speeds don't match up with Intel, but I can assure you that they are just as fast. In the past, maybe not as good as Intel. But not now.
As for support... ha... whatever.
AMD is not even very well supported on Linux. And when given the popularity of Apple once it shifts from AMD chips to Intel chips... the answer is very obvious.
Heat is one problem. Some desktops and laptops that are fitted with Turion chips are quite hot, worse than my AMD Athlon dinosaur PC (7 years old). Granted that old AMD chips are hot, but the Turion PCs that I work with are hotter than my dino.Originally posted by RvnRooRon84:Why Mayi? Can be more specific? Any major problems? (other then gets hot easier; a friend says it gets hot easily because some users changes the bios settings purposely in order to 'overclock' the processor)
THe turion would be rated at a slightly lower level than the Core Duo processor(take note, this is the generation of processors before the Core 2 Duo came out)Originally posted by RvnRooRon84:Which is more newer? Intel right? And if I were to compare them, where does the AMD fit in the Intell tree in terms of performance?
Sorry if I ask n00b questions or my questions seems illogical!![]()
Yeah...Originally posted by ceecookie:haha this is a controversial marketing statement i like to say when comparing the two giants.
BTW,apple is powered by AMD?Thought its IBM PowerPC?
oh.U're talking about when Apple deciding the next processor to use.Thought u are referring to the previous processor that Apple used before switching to Intel.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Yeah...
I've got both Intel and AMD PCs... so I do know.
Generally, AMD's clock speeds look slower than Intel (just Google those formula), but just perform as well as Intel.
Error... should be Apple chooses Intel over AMD...
