New MSN Virus?

  Is there any standard proceedure to check for computer infection ?
  
  like check symptoms then do something else or so

  AVG never detect it leh. i ran it for very long and it only detected the 2 above mentioned ones. Some more I checked when those 2 virus were created it the date and time roughly coincided with when the MSN virus infeected my comp.

  If you suspect infections, update your anti-malware programs and perform a scan.
  
  And if the symptoms persist, you can post back for help.

  This was posted only yesterday. Can you confirm the actual date?
  
  As for whether MSN virus is some portal for other viruses, I'm not sure. Most who didn't open the file faced no problems. If you opened the file, then I can't guarantee anything.

  I also cant seem to use the Krapsefy or how u name it scanner. After installing activex i come to a window and got nothing to click already. My AVG scanner scanned finish no more threats liao.
  
  Now got another annoying problem: I think my AVg when deleting some infected files also deleted some unimportant windows registry:
  
  C:\WINDOWS system32 nimryvakfe csrss
  
  now whenever i start up windows they say cant detect this folder and remove from registry.
  
  Similar to this problem here:

  I deleted it from the registry yet tt error still pop up when i restart windows.

  If yes, that is not some unimportant file, but some sickening virus.

  oh good yeah i deleted all of it already. Now all good and fine. no more problems so far. THanks for the help

  Update: Tool has been fixed for those who have been getting the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\HOSTS error. Re-download the tool and try again
  
  Okay. Working through the night, and finishing at 2.26am, I came out with impFix for EVERYONE who has somehow got themselves infected by the IMProfile.net virus mentioned in the previous post HERE.
  
  As mentioned earlier on, the virus causes your MSN/Windows Live Messenger to actually spam out LOADS of messages to everyone on your contact list, hence infecting them in return should they run the file from the website.
  
  ..and, as promised, here is a fix for the numerous who are affected:

  Basically, impFix removes the virus in question, thats it.
