How to disable firewall?

  I think my comp has a firewall,but I don't know where is it or how to disable it temporarily.

  Control panel, firewall control, off wirewall.

  as above....mine is: start>settings>control panel>windows firewall....under the "general" tab select off

  mine 1st time into BT...but the download speed is still 0kb/s even after I off the firewall?
