can all wireless router disable braodcast of SSID??

  Yes.
  
  Unless you are using one the freaking old routers that doesn't allow you to disable SSID broadcast.
  
  By definition of old, it's when wireless is introduced and you get this router.
  
  The reason is because wireless use wasn't widespread, the people who created it never thought of disabling SSID broadcast. It doesn't cause problems anyway, so the option wasn't there.
  
  But once it gained in popularity, there were problems. To disable SSID broadcast option was then available.

  Legit software can now see hidden broadcasting SSID. although it does not show people the SSID name, but then we didn't want people to know that a Router is active within your area

  Disable doesn't mean cannot see hor...
  
  I just need to send out specific stuffs out to the router to get the SSID out...

  As long as you protect your wireless network with WPA/WPA2, don't worry if your router cannot disable SSID broadcast. If someone really want to hack your system, just run KisMac (Mac OS), Kismet (Linux) or NetStumbler. Even those hidden SSID name will be shown in full.

  Encryption doesn't mean it can't be cracked. As of now, WPA2 is uncrackable, well, in reasonable sense. You will die before it's cracked. Not all routers support WPA2, so it's an issue.
  
  WPA is crackable. In a matter of hours.
